Privacy policy

AIPulse is an aggregator, not an advertising business. Reading it needs no account, sets no tracking cookies and builds no profile of you. This page states exactly what we do collect, why we are allowed to, who else sees it, and how to make us delete it.

Last updated

The short version. We hold an email address if — and only if — you asked for the newsletter. We hold an application if you applied to a job. We hold company and billing details if you bought a listing or a sponsorship. Everything else we measure is aggregate and carries no identifier. We do not sell data, we set no advertising cookies, and you can be deleted from our records with one email.

The sections below are the full version. It applies to aipulse.network and every page under it.

What we collect

Reading AIPulse requires no account, and we collect nothing that identifies you as a reader. Personal data only enters the system when you deliberately hand it over, in one of three ways:

Newsletter subscription

When you subscribe to the digest we store your email address, an optional name, your tier (free or Pro), your chosen frequency and topic interests, the page you subscribed from, the time you subscribed and confirmed, and the single-use tokens that make confirmation and one-click unsubscribe work. Pro subscribers additionally have a customer identifier issued by our payment processor.

Job applications

If you apply to a role through a listing on our board, we store the name, email address and any optional phone number, LinkedIn URL, portfolio URL, résumé link and cover letter you enter. This is passed to the employer who posted the role — that is the entire point of submitting it — and they become an independent controller of it from that moment.

Posting a job or buying a sponsorship

Employers and sponsors provide a contact name, email address, company details and the content of the listing or placement. Card details are entered on our payment processor’s own checkout and are never transmitted to or stored on our servers; we receive only a transaction reference, the last four digits, and the outcome.

Analytics and click measurement

We run two privacy-preserving measurement systems, and neither builds a profile of you.

Aggregate site analytics. Page views and loading performance are measured through Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights. These are cookieless: they do not set identifiers, do not follow you across other websites, and report only in aggregate — how many people viewed a page, from roughly which country, on which kind of device.

Outbound click counts. When you click a headline, a sponsor placement or a job listing, we record the type of click, which item was clicked, the destination URL, the referring page and a timestamp. We deliberately do not record an IP address, a user identifier or a cookie value alongside it, so these rows cannot be linked back to a person or joined into a session. They exist to tell publishers and sponsors how many clicks a placement received.

Email delivery for the digest reports standard aggregate metrics such as deliveries, opens and clicks so we can tell whether an issue reached inboxes at all.

Cookies and local storage

AIPulse sets no advertising cookies and no cross-site tracking cookies. There is no consent banner on this site because there is nothing to consent to for ordinary reading.

What the site does use is your browser’s own local storage, for preferences only:

  • Your recent searches, so the search palette can offer them back to you. They never leave your browser.
  • Display preferences such as feed density and whether you have dismissed the newsletter banner.
  • An in-progress job posting draft, so a half-finished form survives an accidental refresh.

All of it is readable and clearable by you at any time through your browser’s “clear site data” control, and none of it is transmitted to us or to anyone else. Clearing it costs you nothing but those preferences.

Strictly necessary cookies may be set by our payment processor during checkout to prevent fraud and to keep a checkout session attached to the right payment. Those apply only while you are paying.

Why we are allowed to hold it

Where the GDPR or a comparable law applies, the lawful bases we rely on are these, and no others:

  • Consent — for the newsletter. It is a double opt-in: an address does nothing until the confirmation link in the first email is clicked, and consent is withdrawable in one click from every issue thereafter.
  • Performance of a contract — for job postings and sponsorships, where we need your details to publish and invoice what you bought.
  • Legitimate interests — for aggregate, non-identifying analytics and click counts, for security and abuse prevention, and for keeping the index itself working. We have weighed these against your interests on the basis that no profile is built and no data is sold.
  • Legal obligation — for transaction and tax records we are required to retain.

Who else sees it

We do not sell personal data, and we never have. We do not share it with data brokers or advertising networks. It reaches a third party only where that party is performing a function on our behalf, or where sharing is the thing you asked for:

  • Hosting and infrastructure — the site and its API run on Vercel; content and subscriber records are stored in MongoDB Atlas.
  • Payments — Stripe processes every payment and holds the card data we deliberately never touch.
  • Email delivery — our transactional and newsletter provider sends confirmation, digest and job-related email.
  • Employers — a job application goes to the company that posted the role. That is what submitting it does.

Each of these is bound to process data only on our instructions. We may also disclose data where we are legally compelled to, or to protect the security of the service — and if the business is ever transferred, this policy travels with the data.

Sponsors and advertisers receive aggregate performance figures — impressions and click counts — and never a list of who clicked.

How long we keep it

  • Newsletter subscriptions are kept while active. Unsubscribing marks the record inactive and stops all sending; we retain the suppressed address so we do not accidentally re-add you, and delete it entirely on request.
  • Unconfirmed subscriptions — an address that never clicks the confirmation link is purged, and never receives an issue in the meantime.
  • Job applications are retained for the life of the listing plus a short window for the employer to work through them, then deleted from our side.
  • Expired job listings are removed from the board automatically; the billing record behind them is kept for the statutory retention period.
  • Click and analytics rows carry no identifiers, so they are retained in aggregate for trend reporting.

Your rights, and how to use them

Depending on where you live you have the right to access, correct, delete, export or restrict the personal data we hold, to object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting what was done before you withdrew it.

Two of those need no request at all:

  • Unsubscribing — one click in the footer of any issue, no login, no confirmation step.
  • Changing your data — the preferences link in every issue lets you edit your cadence, interests and name directly.

For anything else — a copy of your data, or full deletion — write to privacy@aipulse.network from the address concerned and we will act within 30 days. We will never charge you for a request or make you create an account to file one. If you believe we have handled your data badly, you may also complain to your local data protection authority.

Security, transfers and children

Traffic to the site is encrypted in transit, data is encrypted at rest by our hosting providers, and administrative access is restricted to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not claim otherwise — but the deliberate decision not to collect what we do not need is the strongest protection here, and it is the one we lean on.

Our providers operate globally, so data may be processed outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, those transfers rely on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses or an equivalent safeguard.

AIPulse is a professional publication and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their data; if you believe a child has subscribed, tell us and we will delete the record.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes we update the date at the top of this page. Where a change materially affects how we handle data you have already given us — a new category of recipient, a new purpose — we will say so in the newsletter before it takes effect rather than relying on you to re-read the page.
